Hi, I'm Krissy.
I'm a Gold Coast local, a mum, a nurse, and the founder of PowerDaze. I started PowerDaze for my son, Dylan. June 8, 2019 is a date that changed my family forever.
My son Dylan, in his final year of high school, went out to one of his first ever parties at North Burleigh Headland. After attempting to stop a group of teens from stealing a bag (bless his heart), he was violently attacked and beaten. Not only that, he was chased off of the Headland, falling 4.7 metres onto the rocks below. At this point, Dylan called me, begging for help.
He was badly hurt, concussed, and couldn't tell me where he was.

"My phone is going to die"
Dylan's phone battery died before we could confirm his exact location. We knew he wouldn't be able to call for an ambulance, or any further help. All we could do was pray we were heading to the right location, hoping he would be there.
Fortunately, with the help of the North Burleigh Surf Club ladies, we were able to get Dylan to the hospital, where he began a 3 month long physical recovery from the attack. I can assure you the emotional recovery is still ongoing, 4 years later.
The Beginning of PowerDaze
Sitting by his hospital bed, I couldn't stop thinking about the fact that if Dylan had an extra 10, 15, 20% of phone battery that night, we could've gotten him to safety much quicker than we did.
This sparked the idea of PowerDaze.
Dylan has made an incredible recovery, but what he went through was horrible. What we all went through that night has changed us as a family, forever. I started this business to ensure no parent ever has to have that phone call. PowerDaze is here to make sure we can all keep our children and ourselves a little safer, to give us all a little peace of mind that if we need to, we can call for help.
